DAY 01
AIRPORT - COLOMBO - PILIYANDALAAM
Arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport.
Assistance on arrival by a representative of "Heritage
Expediciones".
Transfer to Piliyandala, a town 20 km from Colombo bordering
the Bolgoda Lake, the biggest natural lake in Sri Lanka.

Check-in to the Thotupola Eco Lodges in Deltara, Piliyandala,
a popular place for activity based holidays in a tranquil
setting. Enjoy adventure expeditions, eco programmes and
camping on isolated islands.

DAY 02
PILIYANDALA - TISSAMAHARAMA - YALA
AM
Breakfast.
Leave for Yala along the southern coastal line. The
important townships that you will pass by will be Hikkaduwa
which is famous for its coral reefs. Galle the capital of
Sri Lanka during the reign of the Dutch, Weligama famous for
its stilt fishermen and Tangalle which supports a very large
fisheries harbour.

Reach Yala in the afternoon.
At 15.30 hrs. commence a safari of the Yala National Park
which is by far the best wild life park in Sri Lanka. Around
19.00 hrs. proceed to an available campsite where the
clients will be greeted with a cup of tea followed by a
jungle cocktail.
After a sumptuous dinner and a bit of relaxation, commence a
night safari of the park. Enjoy an experience of a night out
in the wild and return to the campsite. Refresh yourself
with a cup of coffee or tea before retiring to bed.
Overnight stay at an available campsite where tented accommodation will
be provided.

DAY 03
YALA - KUDA OYA
AM
After early bed tea embark on a bird watching expedition.
Return to the campsite for breakfast. by 09.00 a.m.
Leave Yala and proceed to the Task Safari campsite in
Kuda Oya.

Reach the camp which is a fixed site where the tents are
insect proof with attached bath and toilet. Relax for a
while or do some fishing with locally made rods or take a
dip in the Kirindi Oya to refresh yourself.
In the late hours of the evening depart for the night
safari. An unique experience that is exclusive to Task
visitors. A half hour drive through the jungle, a trek
through the forest on foot, culminating with a climb up a
rock, to be rewarded with a feeling of amazement as the
aroma of a sizzling barbeque complete with a bonfire greets
you. A definite must for the adventurer.
Return to the camp and enjoy a blissful nights sleep.

DAY 04
KUDA OYA - OHIYA
AM
A memorable morning! Wake up to the sounds of the wild. After
early bed tea trek to the village hamlet of Sepala Weva. Here
you will observe the reawakening of the village and the day to
day life of the villagers. Sepala Weva is a birdwatchers
paradise. Return to the campsite, breakfast will be served at
the "Gajamuthu" restaurant.
Relax till departure or may be take a dip in the "Kirindi Oya".

Check out from the campsite and leave for Ohiya which is located
in the central highlands and the area is famous for its gently
rolling landscape with forest patches.
En-route visit Buduruwagala and see a group of seven colossal
standing rock-cut Mahayana Buddhist figures carved in high
relief on a cliff facing thick jungle. The central Buddha figure
of 51ft. is flanked by Bodhistave figures and Goddess Tara. The
figures show traces of their original plaster and paint and are
dated between 8th - 10th century AD.
Overnight stay at Ohiya in tented accommodation.

DAY 05 OHIYA -
HORTON PLAINS - WEDDAGALA (SINHARAJA)
AM
Trek to Horton Plains 7,200ft. above sea level. This is the only
National Park situated in the hill country where visitors are
permitted to walk. A trek on the plains takes you to World’s End
a vertical drop of 1312 metres and Baker’s Falls which is an
unique experience. Horton Plains is a habitat for a large number
of endemic birds.
On completion of the trek leave for Weddagala.

Reach Weddagala and trek to the Sinharaja Eco Lodges.
Overnight camping. Tented accommodation will be provided. In
case there is rain, you could move into the Eco Lodges.

DAY 06 WEDDAGALA (SINHARAJA) - KNUCKLES

Breakfast
Engage in a nature trek to the Sinharaja Rain Forest an
abundance of plant and animal life. Covering an extent of 22,000
acres the highest number of endemic flora and fauna species on
the island are found here. Almost 95% of the island’s endemic
bird life and the highest concentration of endemic mammals are
seen in this reserve. Known to be an unique rain forest, it is
the only one of its kind in the entire sub continent region. The
jewel of Sri Lanka’s conservation crown and has been declared as
a Man and Biosphere Reserve (MAB) and a World Heritage Site.

Leave for the Knuckles range of mountains situated in the Matale
district. This range consists of five peaks which resembles the
knuckles of a clenched fist. The highest point is Gombaniya
6248ft. The five peaks which could be seen from the West to
South East is Kirigalpotta 5403ft, Gombaniya 6248ft, Knuckles
roughly in the centre of the range is 6122ft, Koboneelagala
5198ft and Dotulugala 5161ft. Known also as the " Mini Alps" and
spreading around 20,000 hectares of land, it is a veritable
storehouse of a rich biodiversity and a host of indigenous flora
and fauna. Moreover, climatic conditions of five regions is
found over a 62 mile radius in this range.
Overnight at the campsite of the Forest Department or at Eagle’s
Crest or Corbet’s View guest house in dormitory type
accommodation.

Day 07
KNUCKLES - DIGANA
AM
Breakfast
Indulge in
nature treks of your choice selecting the degree of difficulty
on a scale of 1 to 5. Mountain biking could
also be done.
PM Leave for
Digana and check-in at the Orutota Chalets which overlooks the
Mahaweli waters. An evening trek along the Hulu Ganga to a
mediaeval buddhist temple known as the Bambaragala Raja Maha
Viharaya.
Jungle
barbecue dinner and overnight stay at the Orutota Chalets.

Day 08
DIGANA - AIRPORT
AM
Early breakfast
Transfer to the Bandaranaike International Airport for
departure.

at the Airport 03 hours prior to to your departure flight.
